The Soviet Union was one of the Allies during WWII, They did not join until the general hostilities untill 22 of june 1941, when it was invaded by Germany and Romania. Before all of this the soviet union occupied Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and eastern Poland and many more countries. Then in 1941 Germany attack Soviet Union by sizeing there rail network by assets located in these area and countries. Why did they do that because it was (during WWII) the major importance in supporting military operation as well as well as in providing for the increased need of the wartime economy. Plus before again the Germany invaded soviet union the soviet union aggression pact with Nazi Germany, it was containing a secret protocal by dividing the whole of eastern Europe. But Hitler did not listen or live to that agreement so that how they invaded soviet union. On that day of june 22, 1941 this was the largest military operation in WWII. How because three army groups and plus more than 3 million German solider and plus supported by 650000 troops from Germany allies, attacked the soviet union within the following year. For the next several months, German forces stormed across the soviet countries side. They through soviet would collasped ,it almost but it didn't.
