The Battle of the Bulge; How this all started well on December 16, 1944, Hitler convinced himself that the alliance between Britain, France, and American in the sector of Europe was not strong and that major attack and defeat would break up the alliance. The they used was strictly known as the Ardennes offensive but because the initial attack by the Germans created bulge in Allied front line, but we gave a better name as we commonly as the Battle of Bulge. It was a year fight in a winter months and plus it was the last major Nazi offensive against the Allied in WWII before they surrender of Hitler sudden death. Also this battle was the ditch attempt by Hitler (before his timeless death that year later) to split the Allies. Plus the Germans attacked a weakly defended section of Allied line, taking advantage of heavily overcast weather conditions. This battle involved about 610000 (of course) American men, some of 89000 were casualties including 19000 killed. Plus to be more in to this, that was the largest and bloodiest fought by United States in WWII. After that battle in Normandy at the end of July 1944 and the landing in Southern France, the Allied advanced Germany more quickest than anticipated. Germany still had control of a lot of major ports on the english channel coast until may 1945 (the day Hitler died).Plus the battle of bulge have a effect on German by the death of Hitler, plus forcing German and Berlin to surrender, then the atomic bomb on Japan later in the 1940s.

Aftermath
After this horrible battle, the U.S official account lists 80987 American causalities, while other ,like German, estimates range from 70000 to 108000. According to the U.S. Department of Defense the American forces suffered 89000 casualties, and other including 19246 were killed, 62489 wonuned and 26612 captured and missing. Like I said the Battle of the Bulge was the most bloodiest battle in WWII or United States ever encountered. But for British they only lost a total of 1400.

But for the Allied pressed their advanced following the battle. By the beginning of February 1945, the lines were roughly where they had been in December 1944.
early February, the Allies launched an attack all along the Western front: in the north under Montgomery toward Aachen; in the center, under Courtney Hodges; and in the south, under Patton. Montgomery's behavior during the months of December and January, including the press conference on 7 January where he appeared to downplay the contribution of the American generals, further soured his relationship with his American counterparts through to the end of the war.
